Day 5
We spent our first night in Quebec at Stevers in-laws farm. What a great place this turned out to be and what made it great was all the stories that were told by Grampa. He was very proud of his lamp collection.
The family are in the apple business and they also make many different kinds of jams and jellies to sell. We slept in the "shed" but had to listen to an alarm beep all night. Glad I brought earplugs.
We walked down to see the maple grove where the family also makes maple syrup. The NFB once did a documentary about maple syrup and they filmed it on this farm. http://www.onf-nfb.gc.ca/eng/collection/film/?id=10715
We walked down to the love, sorry, Sugar shack and had a peek inside. On the way there we saw the biggest maple tree I have ever seen. This thing was huge.
After the farm we were on our way to Montreal and then through to Quebec City. We made a pit stop near the Plains of Abraham where Greg tried tirelessly to inform us about what took place there. Stever and I were more interested in staying damp. We would rather google such info, http://www.ccbn-nbc.gc.ca/_en/index.php
