2011-08-06 Rawdon to Chester
Jason and Kelsow met at Tim's for a ride with no destination in mind. We decided to head to Rawdon area.
En route, we stopped into Zack's cottage but he wasn't there. We decided to pick up the 202 and try to find a dirt loop off Elliot Road.
We found a narrow and seldom traveled dirt road off Elliot Road. Once we made it though and back out on another main road, we saw a woman walking three dogs. Nothing out of the ordinary except for one thing - she was shirtless. We know what you're thinking. Yes, they were lovely puppies. We meant the pooches.
Most of these roads dead ended so we decided to backtrack in search of the main road. We found Cross 2 Road and decided to swing back out to the 202 so that we could pick up Elliot Road again.
Once on Elliot, we decided to stay on the main dirt road. The road has been graded (if you can call it that - it's very rough and rutty) and hasn't seen much traffic since this road work.
We stopped at the bridge for a few photos and a cool down.
We came out to the #14 and decided to head to Windsor for a coffee. We met a bunch of vintage bike guys and chatted to a friendly guy that owned a '66 Honda Benly (Baby Dream). There were old BSA's, Norton's, Triumph's, Honda's and a Yamaha XT 500!
We decided to pick up the #14 highway between Windsor and Chester in search of cooler temperatures on the south shore. Once on the #3, we decided to head for home.
In Hubbards, we turned onto Conrad's Road to check out Queensland Beach. The scenery did not disappoint!
There were plenty of 5-0 on the #3 today looking for speeders. We're law abiding citizens so we had no hassles!
It was a good mix of dirt and trail exploring and pavement today - a true dual sport ride!
